For those on you who don't know, we think Matt F might be in the market for a new bike this weekend! Well done Matt - best 3 peaks story so far!

11:20 Latest update on Matt F's Bike...I'm pleased to report that it is recovering nicely in intensive care. The barrier however is not quite so well - that has had to be scrapped, and the pub are going to make it into a permanent memorial of it in to the shape of a bent and buckled bicycle. Sorry - it's a slow news hour!

11.25 We hope Comms will be back up shortly - rumour has it that Garth has spent so long talking to the marshalls that they haven't been able to get set up and on-line. I wish Vicky had left those celeb gossip magazines...they would have come in handy just about now! On the upside though, the canteen are setting up for a BBQ downstairs in 280, so we can all chill out this afternoon with a nicely burnt burger!

18:46 - It is with great regret (and mild amusement) that we have to report the sad demise of a pub car park barrier after being assulted by Matt Fawcet's bicycle. It appears that Matt had been out cycling the Miners Track at Snowdon. When finished Matt placed his trusted cycle on the roof rack and trundled his merry way back to his lodgings. Unfortunately Matt forgot that the height of his car + bicycle was greater than the pub car park barrier and the inevitable happened. A witness reported that the bicycle had suffered serious damage and will require hospital treatment and the barrier was completely broken. The pub was full at the time of the incident with approx 200 people watching the drama unfold. The pub has re-booked Matt on a weekly basis as the rapturous applause was very good for business. The Police are interested (as are we) should anyone have any footage of the above incident.

TEAM UPDATES:

The Support Team in Hook will be online for the whole of the event, some were so keen that they even volunteered for the night shift, giving me (Richard *waves*) a chance to kip. I'm sure they will introduce themselves at the appropriate time. Expect updates approximately every 15 minutes, although there may be a longer periods between updates whilst the teams are en-route between mountains.

We'll be using this blog to communicate each team's progress so you will have a reasonable idea where they are. We'll do our best to use Team Names but there may be times when we will use Team Numbers due to the volume of data being received from the Control Points in the mountains. The TEAM page on the main website lists the team numbers and names.
